The Dutch National Ballet announce today, 5th April 2023 that last night, immediately after the performance of Swan Lake, Victor Caixeta was promoted to the rank of principal dancer. During this performance, Caixeta danced the role of Prince Siegfried at Dutch National Ballet for the first time.
Caixeta joined Dutch National Ballet as a soloist in March 2022, after the war in Ukraine made him decide that he could no longer stay at the Russian Mariinsky Ballet.
“Victor is a hugely talented and charismatic dancer and we are thrilled to be welcoming him to Dutch National Ballet”, said artistic director Ted Brandsen at the time. Following Caixeta’s promotion, he said: “This promotion to principal dancer proves what many have known for a long time: Victor is an amazing dancer with strong technique, great musicality and an irresistible appearance – a true star.”
