The Prix de Lausanne announced Young Creation Award

The Prix de Lausanne announced its new partner project for the 2021 edition. After the success of the choreographic project, that was held for three consecutive years, the Prix de Lausanne is launching The Young Creation Award, for the 49th competition in 2021.

The aim of this new project is to discover young new talent in aspiring choreographers and promoting the art of choreography in a privileged context thanks to the Prix de Lausanne’s expertise.

Open to partner school students and partner company dancers between 14 and 19 years old, the participant must create an original choreography of a contemporary variation lasting two minutes maximum set on a partner school student or a partner company dancer.

The pre-selection of the choreographies will be done by video audition with an international jury meeting in Lausanne at the end of June 2020.

The chosen choreographies will then be performed during the Interlude performance of the 2021 Prix de Lausanne. The jury will reward two winners with a cash prize offered by the Heinz Spoerli Foundation.

The two winners’ variations will become the official contemporary variations in the Prix de Lausanne’s repertory for the 2022 competition.

By launching the Young Creation Award-Heinz Spoerli Foundation Prize, the Prix the Lausanne wishes to encourage the imagination and creativity of young dancers to become aware of the art and technique of choreography.
