From today, November 25, the Tokyo Ballet streams Maurice Béjart’s “M”. The production was recorded with five cameras in full HD at the Tokyo Bunka Kaikan in October 2020 by taking a number of careful precautions and safety measures, and it will be available until November 30 to commemorate Japanese novelist Yukio Mishima’s 50th death anniversary.
“M” was created in 1993 for the Tokyo Ballet and is of course inspired by Mishima’s life and works in order to «simply suggest, and above all, love – without ever judging».
The Tokyo Ballet already performed “M” in Europe several times – in Paris, Milan, Berlin and Hamburg.
