Not thanks to, but despite history, Ballet de Catalunya began in 2016, organised by Elias Garcia and Leo Sorribes in Barcelona. A city full of ancient traditions, of folk dance uniting people in their solidarity, with the constant success of the opera performances at the Teatre del Liceu and a noticeable absence of classical dance. The ballet Don Quijote, the script of which takes place in this city, full of Spanish flavour, conquers stages all over the world. And the final pas de deux demonstrates the virtuosity of dancers at endless galas and competitions. The Ballet de Catalunya has successfully curated its own production with the hope that as many people as possible can get acquainted with this bright performance.
