Drawing on Joseph Mazilier\u2019s original choreography alongside Marius Petipa\u2019s later contributions, and featuring Luisa Spinatelli\u2019s 2001 costumes, this production joins La Scala Ballet\u2019s repertoire with a series of performances that seem to herald the arrival of summer.<\/p>\n<p>Striking a balance between historical accuracy and practical staging, this <em>Paquita<\/em> offers a rare insight into a work seldom seen in its original form.<\/p>\n<p>Selected for La Scala\u2019s repertoire by former ballet director Manuel Legris \u2013 who recently left La Scala and himself danced the male lead in Paris during his time as an \u00e9toile \u2013 the ballet is set in flamboyant Spain.
