Im Teatro Col\u00f3n, dem gr\u00f6\u00dften Opernhaus Argentiniens, wurde am Freitag der ehemalige argentinische Start\u00e4nzer Julio Bocca zum neuen Direktor ernannt.<\/p>\n

Bocca wird Nachfolger von Jorge Telerman, der nach dem Willen der Kulturministerin der Stadt Buenos Aires noch bis Jahresende amtieren sollte, aber letzte Woche seinen R\u00fccktritt erkl\u00e4rte. Mit dem Wechsel der Leitung will die Kulturbeh\u00f6rde von Buenos Aires die Reform abschlie\u00dfen, die mit der 2010 abschlossenen Renovierung des Geb\u00e4udes begann; eine Reform des Arbeitsmodells soll nun ein nachhaltiges Theater mit Vorbildcharakter zeitigen, das die gro\u00dfen K\u00fcnstler Argentiniens und der Region pr\u00e4sentiert. Durch \u00c4nderungen in der Verwaltungsstruktur des Teatro Col\u00f3n soll eine gr\u00f6\u00dfere Effizienz erreicht werden, erkl\u00e4rte das Ministerium. Die Ballettkompanie wird derzeit von Mario Galizzi geleitet.<\/p>\n

Julio Bocca arbeitet gemeinsam mit Gerardo Grieco, mit dem er bereits am Teatro Sorde in Montevideo, der Hauptstadt Uruguays, die Verwaltungsspitze bildete. In der argentinischen Presse geht man davon aus, dass Bocca die k\u00fcnstlerische Verantwortung und Grieco die Verwaltungsleitung des Theaters \u00fcbernehmen wird. Beide wollen ihr Team und ihre Ideen Anfang November vorstellen. Die Besetzung der Leitung des renommierten Theaters erfolgt auch nach politischen Bedingungen, so geh\u00f6rt der scheidende Direktor nicht der Partei des Regierungschefs der autonomen Stadt Buenos Aires an.<\/p>\n

Der heute 57-j\u00e4hrige Julio Bocca stammt aus dem Umkreis von Buenos Aires und studierte in der Ballettschule des Teatro Col\u00f3n. Mit 18 Jahre wurde er nach dem Gewinn des internationalen Ballettwettbewerbs in Moskau von Michail Baryschnikow direkt als Erster Solist ans ABT in New York engagiert, wo er bis 2006 tanzte. Der elegante, kraftvolle Virtuose war au\u00dferdem auf der ganzen Welt zu Gast und gilt in seinem Heimatland bis heute als einer der popul\u00e4rsten K\u00fcnstler.<\/p>\n

1990 gr\u00fcndete Bocca das Ballet Argentino, das auf der ganzen Welt gastierte. Er arbeitete oft mit Tangot\u00e4nzerinnen zusammen. Im Jahr 2000 tanzte er auch am Broadway in der Tanzshow \u201eFosse\u201c. 2007 beendete er seine B\u00fchnenkarriere, arbeitete als Ballettmeister, P\u00e4dagoge und mehrfach als Jurymitglied bei internationalen Wettbewerben. Von 2010 bis 2018 leitete er das Nationalballet von Uruguay im Teatro Sodre. Dort folgte ihm als Direktorin seine ehemalige ABT-Kollegin Mar\u00eda Riccetto, die in Montevideo geboren wurde.<\/p>\n

Buenos Aires: Julio Bocca Appointed Ballet and Theatre Director<\/strong><\/p>\n

At the Teatro Col\u00f3n, Argentina\u2019s largest opera house, former Argentine star dancer Julio Bocca was appointed as the new director on Friday. Bocca succeeds Jorge Telerman, who was supposed to remain in office until the end of the year according to the wishes of the Buenos Aires Minister of Culture, but resigned last week. With the change in leadership, the Buenos Aires cultural authority aims to complete the reform that began with the renovation of the building in 2010; a reform of the working model is now expected to create a sustainable theatre with exemplary character, showcasing the great artists of Argentina and the region. Changes in the administrative structure of the Teatro Col\u00f3n are intended to achieve greater efficiency, the ministry explained. The ballet company is currently led by Mario Galizzi.<\/p>\n

Julio Bocca will work together with Gerardo Grieco, with whom he already formed the management team at the Teatro Sorde in Montevideo, the capital of Uruguay. The Argentine press assumes that Bocca will take on the artistic responsibility and Grieco the administrative management of the theatre. Both plan to present their team and ideas at the beginning of November. The appointment of the management of the renowned theatre also follows political conditions, as the outgoing director does not belong to the party of the head of government of the autonomous city of Buenos Aires.<\/p>\n

The now 57-year-old Julio Bocca comes from the vicinity of Buenos Aires and studied at the ballet school of the Teatro Col\u00f3n. At the age of 18, after winning the international ballet competition in Moscow, he was directly engaged by Mikhail Baryshnikov as a principal dancer at the ABT in New York, where he danced until 2006. The elegant, powerful virtuoso was also a guest all over the world and is still considered one of the greatest in his homeland.<\/p>\n
