He earned a place as a quadrille, or corps de ballet dancer, in the Concours externe, the annual competition for dancers who do not come from the company’s own academy. The charismatic Canadian trained in Toronto and at the Acad\u00e9mie Princesse Grace in Monte-Carlo. He has won numerous prizes, including the Prix de Lausanne 2018 and the Youth American Grand Prix 2014. Wagman was the youngest guest ever to appear in a leading role at the Mariinsky, as James in “La Sylphide”. He danced with the English National Ballet from 2019 to 2021, when Igor Zelensky brought him to Munich. He was promoted to soloist in the 2022\/23 season. Alexei Ratmansky choreographed a leading role for him in his “Tchaikovsky Overtures”, Wagman was also in numerous other creations.
