The English National Ballet School has announced that Viviana Durante, the Artistic Director, will be stepping down at the end of the current academic year.
\n“Ms Durante has led the artistic development of the School for the past five years and has been successful in her role. In her statement, she expressed her gratitude for the privilege of guiding the School’s artistic development.”<\/p>\n
“I have had the pleasure of working with five cohorts of exceptional dancers and witnessing their growth as talented and creative artists. The artistic, educational, health, management, and operational teams I have worked with are dedicated and talented. Together, we have created a safe, nurturing, and inspiring environment to empower the students. We have been fortunate to receive support from English National Ballet, as well as many sponsors, donors, partner organizations, and visiting choreographers and teachers. Alongside everyone at the school, their dedication has allowed us to provide our students with a plethora of opportunities, positioning us among the world’s top ballet schools.”<\/p>\n
Viviana Durante will continue to lead the School’s artistic streams through the summer performances in July.<\/p>\n
The ENBS Board stated that Viviana has provided exceptional artistic leadership and co-led the School through a time of significant challenge and change. They praised her vision and ability to create opportunities for students and expressed their gratitude for her contributions. The Board looks forward to continuing to work with Viviana for the rest of the school year and wishes her all the best in her future endeavors.<\/p>\n
In July, Viviana will perform in addition to the summer performances. She will also attend the Prix de Lausanne with third-year students Gabriel Pimparel and Lana Klemen. Gabriel has been selected as a Prix candidate by the esteemed judging panel, while Lana will participate in the choreography section of the elite dance competition.<\/p>\n
During her tenure, Ms Durante has provided ENBS students with exceptional performance opportunities. Most notably, the school will be the sole institution in the UK and Europe to perform Sir Frederick Ashton’s Romeo and Juliet, as well as the only school in the UK and Europe to be granted permission to perform a work by Pina Bausch. These performances are scheduled for July.\u00a0 Recruitment plans will be announced in due course.<\/p>\n

Die k\u00fcnstlerischen, p\u00e4dagogischen, Gesundheits-, Management- und Betriebsteams, mit denen ich zusammengearbeitet habe, sind engagiert und talentiert. Gemeinsam haben wir ein sicheres, f\u00f6rderndes und inspirierendes Umfeld geschaffen, um die Sch\u00fcler zu st\u00e4rken. Wir hatten das Gl\u00fcck, vom English National Ballet sowie von vielen Sponsoren, Spendern, Partnerorganisationen und Gastchoreographen und -lehrern unterst\u00fctzt zu werden. Zusammen mit allen anderen an der Schule hat ihr Engagement es uns erm\u00f6glicht, unseren Sch\u00fclern eine F\u00fclle von M\u00f6glichkeiten zu bieten und uns unter den besten Ballettschulen der Welt zu positionieren.”<\/p>\n
Viviana Durante wird die k\u00fcnstlerischen Str\u00f6me der Schule bis zu den Sommerauff\u00fchrungen im Juli weiter leiten.<\/p>\n
Der ENBS-Vorstand erkl\u00e4rte, dass Viviana eine au\u00dfergew\u00f6hnliche k\u00fcnstlerische F\u00fchrung geleistet und die Schule durch eine Zeit gro\u00dfer Herausforderungen und Ver\u00e4nderungen gef\u00fchrt hat. Sie lobten ihre Vision und ihre F\u00e4higkeit, M\u00f6glichkeiten f\u00fcr die Sch\u00fcler zu schaffen, und dr\u00fcckten ihre Dankbarkeit f\u00fcr ihre Beitr\u00e4ge aus. Der Vorstand freut sich auf die weitere Zusammenarbeit mit Viviana f\u00fcr den Rest des Schuljahres und w\u00fcnscht ihr alles Gute f\u00fcr ihre zuk\u00fcnftigen Unternehmungen. Im Juli wird Viviana zus\u00e4tzlich zu den Sommerauff\u00fchrungen auftreten. Sie wird zusammen mit den Drittkl\u00e4sslern Gabriel Pimparel und Lana Klemen am Prix de Lausanne teilnehmen. Gabriel wurde von der angesehenen Jury als Prix-Kandidat ausgew\u00e4hlt, w\u00e4hrend Lana in der Choreografie-Sektion des Elitetanzwettbewerbs teilnehmen wird.\u00a0 W\u00e4hrend ihrer Amtszeit hat Frau Durante den Sch\u00fclern der ENBS au\u00dfergew\u00f6hnliche Auftrittsm\u00f6glichkeiten geboten.
