Mai im K\u00f6niglichen Opernhaus Kopenhagen ausgezeichnet. Seit 1841 wird die Medaille \u201eIngenio et arti\u201c als pers\u00f6nliche Ehrung des d\u00e4nischen K\u00f6nigshauses an herausragende Pers\u00f6nlichkeiten im Bereich K\u00fcnste und Wissenschaftler verliehen.<br \/>\nJohn Neumeier hat im Verlauf seiner Karriere enge Verbindungen zu D\u00e4nemark und dem K\u00f6niglich D\u00e4nischen Ballett aufgebaut, mit K\u00f6nigin Margrethe ist er pers\u00f6nlich befreundet. 1985 schuf er auf Einladung der Compagnie zur Wiederer\u00f6ffnung des renovierten K\u00f6niglich-D\u00e4nischen Theaters \u201eAmleth\u201c. Dieses Ballett zum Hamlet-Stoff bezieht sich nicht nur auf Shakespeares ber\u00fchmtes Drama, sondern auch auf die Vorgeschichte in den \u201eGesta Danorum\u201c des Saxo Grammaticus. Eine weitere prominente Kreation f\u00fcr das K\u00f6niglich D\u00e4nische Ballett war John Neumeiers Ballett \u201eDie kleine Meerjungfrau\u201c, das 2005 anl\u00e4sslich von Hans Christian Andersens 200. Geburtstag entstand. Zuletzt kreierte er im Januar 2020 einen Pas de deux f\u00fcr die offizielle Auftaktveranstaltung D\u00e4nemarks zum 100-j\u00e4hrigen Jubil\u00e4um der deutsch-d\u00e4nischen Grenzfestlegung mithilfe friedlicher Referenden.\u00a0 Die Medaille \u201eIngenio et arti\u201c wird selten vergeben, zuletzt 2020 an den ehemaligen Tivoli-CEO Lars Liebst. In 1985 he created \u201cAmleth\u201d at the invitation of the company to reopen the renovated Royal Danish Theater. This ballet on Hamlet relates not only to Shakespeare&#8217;s famous drama, but also to the prehistory in the \u201cGesta Danorum\u201d by Saxo Grammaticus. Another prominent creation for the Royal Danish Ballet was John Neumeier&#8217;s ballet \u201cThe Little Mermaid\u201d, which was created in 2005 on the occasion of Hans Christian Andersen&#8217;s 200th birthday. Most recently, in January 2020, he created a pas de deux for Denmark&#8217;s official kick-off event for the 100th anniversary of the German-Danish border determination with the help of peaceful referenda. The \u201cIngenio et arti\u201d medal is rarely awarded, most recently in 2020 to the former Tivoli CEO Lars Liebst.
