Marco Masciari (Italy)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\nThe 77 candidates from all around the world have performed on the stage of the Auditorium Stravinski during the Selections that took place on last Friday. During the week, they had rehearsed with prestigious world of dance professionals such as Nicolas le Riche<\/strong>, Director of the Royal Swedish Ballet and Etoile of the Paris Opera Ballet. The 9 jury members observed the candidates many times before revealing their final choices at the end of the Selections, during which the young talents performed one classical variation and one contemporary variation in front of a large audience.<\/p>\nThe dancers\u2019 potential was assessed by considering their technical facility, talent, ability to give an imaginative and sensitive response to the music and to communicating clear movements, among others. They had to master the traditional classical repertoire as well as the contemporary creations of Mauro Bigonzetti, Jean-Christophe Maillot, Cathy Marston, Wayne McGregor, Heinz Spoerli or Richard Wherlock.<\/p>\n<\/strong>The Jury Members in this year was: Fr\u00e9d\u00e9ric Olivieri (President), Yorgos Loukos (Vice-President), Philippe Cohen, Bernice Coppieters, Nadia Deferm, Zhongjing Fang, Jaimie Persson, Sebasti\u00e1n Vinet and Zenaida Yanowsky.<\/p>\n
