Sitting in the auditorium to watch Akram Khan’s 10th anniversary performance of Giselle by English National Ballet at the London Coliseum, it is a poignant moment to realise that exactly a year ago, in almost the same seat, I also watched English National Ballet perform Mary Skeaping’s exquisitely pure and sensitively restored Giselle.
Is one Giselle, like all Giselle’s? Have you seen all there is to see and know, once you’ve seen one production of it?
