The jury panel of the 47th Prix de Lausanne will be presided 2019 by Carlos Acosta CBE, 1st Prize Winner of the Prix de Lausanne 1990. Among the artistic collaborators, Elisabeth Platel, Director of the Paris Opera Ballet School, will teach the ballet classes to the girl candidates. During the Interlude, the audience will discover the 2nd edition of the Partner Schools Choreographic Project, choreographed by Didy Veldman, with 28 of the world’s best students reunited in Lausanne for a unique creation, as well as a performance by Hannah O’Neill, Première Danseuse of the Paris Opera Ballet and Prize Winner of the Prix de Lausanne 2009.
The nine jury members of the Prix de Lausanne 2019 are: Carlos Acosta CBE* (President), Ivan Gil-Ortega (Vice President), Julio Bocca, Gillian Murphy, Madeleine Onne, Garry Trinder, Eric Vu-An, Samuel Wuersten and Miyako Yoshida.
Carlos Acosta said: “The Prix de Lausanne has a huge significance for me as it launched my professional dance career after I won the Gold Medal in 1990 which was a truly life-changing experience for me.”
The Prix de Lausanne is also honoured to welcome Elisabeth Platel, Director of the Paris Opera Ballet School, as the ballet teacher for the girl candidates at the Prix de Lausanne 2019, after being a jury member during the 2016 competition.
